PATIENCE

Before Christmas I sustained an injury that had left me incapacitated up until this week.  What a lesson that has been, and especially for me. I am not a patient person in some aspects of my life (i.e. traffic, lines, mail, delegation, and food) and it has been a huge lesson for me. Someone smarter than me once said:
"Waiting does not diminish us any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We of course don't see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy."

I can testify to that for sure. The few workouts I have been able to do this week HAVE been a joy and have left me so thankful just to feel little things like soreness or the flush of blood to the muscle. Humility and hunger is a great combination, I find, as I have been humbled by the injury and anxious to get back to such a fun way to train.
